JOE FLANAGAN #17
Always remember "Joe"

March 4th, 2008
This is a page for JOE. You will always be in our hearts and memories especially everytime we step on the field. We love you Joe! The songs that I am playing on here were some of Joe's favorite songs. This is a page to celebrate his life. He is in a place were he can play softball everyday. He could not ask for more.
From Joe's Coach........
My name is Ned Nichols. I coach the Atlanta Xtreme. We play in the B division. I wish to thank everyone who prayed for him and his family. Please continue to do so.
Our team is going to do something in honor of Joe the next time we play, such as lining up and honoring him with a moment of silence. We are ordering special patches, as well. I am sure it will come about that we will be asked about the possibility of a memorial service. Again, as a team, we have decided to honor Joe in our own way the next time we play. It will be respectful and subdued. If you wish to come by, you are certainly welcome. If the league wishes a special service, that will be their decision. Joe has been a part of this league for a long time. However, I feel a donation to the American Heart Association in his name would be a great memorial. And it would be one more step toward preventing others from going through this pain. If you go to their web site, you can make a donation online in Joe Flanagan's name:

If you did not know Joe Flanagan, it is your loss. Joe was a good person who would offer to help anyone. He definitely loved softball. Honestly, the softball bat manufacturers will miss him greatly. And traffic at their web sites will go WAYYY down! ;-) But that was his passion. He told me today in the outfield that he needed more hitting practice. The man was a hit/practice-aholic. Of course, as his coach, that is a good thing. He was passionate about competing. If you coached him, you probably butted heads with him about something at some time or another. But all that is fine when it arises out of love for the game.
Joe has a partner. His name is Dr. George Jones. They regularly set aside time just for each other. Passion and commitment on and off the field…. a good combination for a man.
If anyone has anything they would like to add to this webpage for Joe please send to wentyard31@aol.com
