Georgia Mudcats win 1st place in the 2009 Saguaro Cup Phoenix,AZ.
The Mudcats won their second tournament of the season!! The Mudcats were 5th seed heading into the double elimination games. They had to play their rival team Atlanta Venom in the first round.The game was close going into the last inning.They were down by 3 runs and the mudcats hit two homeruns to score 4 runs to squeak out a win. The Mudcats next beat Diablos and Long Beach to go to the Championship. They had to play Phoenix Toros. The Toros beat the Mudcats in the first game but Mudcats came out hitting in the second game beating Toros by 17 runs to win the 2009 Saguaro Cup.

The Georgia Mudcats played their first tournament of the year in Orlando this past weekend (January 17th and 18th). The Mudcats started off 0-2 in Round Robin games and 0-1 in the first game of double Elimination on saturday. The bats woke up on Sunday and the Mudcats scored 111 runs in 5 games and double dipped Houston in the finals to take first place. The Mudcats won $500.00 which went to the Charity of their choice. The Mudcats chose PAWS.
The Georgia Mudcats Would like to thank the Orlando Meltdown Tournament Committee for the great job they did putting this tournament together. Thanks for inviting the A division teams!

The Georgia Mudcats Celebration and 1st Annual 2009 Project Overcoat Charity Event Held at Woofs Sports bar.
The Georgia Mudcats held their Orlando Meltdown celebration party and Project Overcoat Charity Event at Woofs sports bar. The Mudcats Delivered over 40 coats to Project Overcoat . Project Overcoat provides thousands of new and gently used coats and blankets to men, women and children in need. The coats and blankets are distributed to local nonprofit organizations. This annual event is sponsored by Atlanta Union Mission, FOX 5, KISS 104.1 FM, FedEx, Kroger and United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta. The Georgia Mudcats would like to thank everyone that participated in The Project Overcoat Event!!

2008 was the debut of the Georgia Mudcats softball team. In their first season the Mudcats won their local league and got 2nd place in the NAGAAA World Series. With the veterans and the new additions to the team we look for even better things to come in 2009.
